Salinger- An Introduction

Nine Stories is a collection of Salinger's short stories. It isn't all of them, but they are
nine of his most popular, which have been chosen to be put in his book.
A lot of his other stories have been published into magazines and newspapers, but Salinger did
not want them to be put into a book. There are however some of his stories that have been
put into Twelve Stories and Twenty Three Stories. Those are both pirated and bootleg, which are
keeping me from purchasing the books. If Salinger didn't mean for them to be published, they shouldn't
be read by me, just the way I think of things.

NINE STORIES- Consists of these stories-

  • A Perfect Day for Bananafish-- The story of Seymour Glass' suicide.
  • Uncle Wiggily In Conneticut-- The story of two friends, and "Uncle Wiggily".
  • Just Before The War With The Eskimos-- A tennis player, her friend, and her friend's brother
  • The Laughing Man-- How a child's heroes story ends
  • Down at the Dinghy-- A mischevious child who disappears... quite often
  • For Esme- With Love and Squalor-- A story for the girl 'he' met
  • Pretty Mouth and Green My Eyes-- An affair with a twisted end
  • De Daumier-Smith's Blue Period-- The story of a French-American art teacher.
  • Teddy-- My favorite- a 'genius' child, who's death was almost forseen.

When I finished each of the stories, I couldn't stop telling all of my friends how MUCH they simply must
read these stories. They all either have a cute ending, or a very twisted ending, which will leave you
thinking long after finishing the stories.

If you don't like it, take this fresh bouquet of early blooming parenthesis! (((())))
